LABORATORY

Our pets cannot tell us what’s wrong, and that’s why laboratory tests are so important. At our clinics, we do more than just offer you state-of-the-art diagnostic tests. We choose the tests that will guide us toward the solution for your pet’s needs. We are committed to providing accurate and timely lab results for the benefit of your pet, thanks to our in-house analyzers or send out Idexx Laboratory.

IN HOUSE LABORATORY

At Grantsburg Animal Hospital and Wild River Veterinary, we are proud to have a full-service in-house laboratory. IDEXX Chemistry analyzer provides comprehensive blood panels used to evaluate major organ functions. Along with being a useful diagnostic tool for sick patients, it also is used as a valuable pre-operative screening for patients undergoing surgical procedures. IDEXX CBC analyzer offers white blood cell differential and absolute reticulocyte count along with validated results on 26 different blood parameters.

Cytological evaluation of samples obtained from many areas of the body, including skin, ears, and growths, are performed microscopically by our doctors and technicians. Urine samples can be tested for evidence of infection and other health issues. Fecal samples can be run in-house as an aid in diagnosing parasite infections. We offer in-house SNAP tests to diagnose diseases such as heartworm infection, tick-borne illnesses, feline rotaviruses, and Giardia.

SEND OUT DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORY

Grantsburg Animal Hospital and Wild River Veterinary Clinic have a partnership with Idexx Laboratories, we are able to offer our patients diagnostics tests that are not available in clinic. The veterinarian chooses tests that will guide them toward the solution and utilizing send-out labs is one way they do so. Idexx offers daily pickup for lab samples when we are open and results are received directly to the patient’s file sometimes the next business day.
