Dr. Laura Aasen (DVM)

Dr. Laura has lived and worked in east central Minnesota for most of her life. She attended the University of Wisconsin in River Falls before entering the University of Minnesota – School of Veterinary Medicine. Many veterinarian hopefuls still attend UWRF because of its excellent Animal Science background to prepare for vet school. Dr. Laura moved to the Owen and Withee area in Wisconsin shortly after graduating, worked as a mixed animal veterinarian. She enjoys meeting new people and their pets. Dr. Laura worked for many years at two nearby clinics doing large and small animal medicine and emergency work. Veterinarians use an animal’s behavior and daily routine changes to figure out what is affecting them whether their large or small animals. Dr. Laura got to work with very talented, caring and supportive individuals in the veterinary field.

I started my veterinary career in 2001 cleaning kennels and the office at Northland Animal Hospital. The next 3 years I gained vet assistant skills. I attended school in 2004 at Duluth Business University while working at Friends of Animals Humane Society. I graduated in 2006 with an Associate of Applied Science in veterinary technology. I passed national and state board and was certified. I moved to Colorado Springs and worked at Cheyne Mountain Animal Hospital. I moved back to Minnesota after my daughter was born and worked for Animal Humane Society in Coon Rapids. I started working for Grantsburg Animal Hospital/Wild River Vet Clinic in March of 2010.
