Welcome to Grantsburg Animal Hospital and Wild River Veterinary Clinic
OUR HISTORY
In 1984, Dr. Greg Palmquist moved to Grantsburg and purchased an existing veterinary clinic (previously owned by Dr. Branstad) in Grantsburg, WI. He practiced companion animal medicine and developed the bovine and equine practice in Grantsburg, along with othe doctors. In 1995, Grantsburg Animal Hospital was remodeled and doubled in size at the current location at 886 South Pine Street.
In 2006, Wild River Veterinary Clinic opened in Pine City, MN. East Central Minnesota needed large and equine veterinarians, as a number of veterinarians quit practicing large animal medicine. Pine City was chosen as a new location because it is a rapidly growing community that is close to Grantsburg and along the I-35 corridor. About 15% of Grantsburg Animal Hospital's clients were coming from Minnesota and the Pine City location is more convenient for them. This clinic will serve the clients in Minnesota as well as Wisconsin for large animal medicine, large and small animal supplies, companion animal exams and surgery, as well as grooming.
What once started out as a one doctor one technician practice when Dr. Palmquist bought the practice in 1984, has evolved into a two facility practice in two states covering 12 counties. We are very thankful for the trust and patronage shown by our valued clients that allows us to be what we've become today and strive to be tomorrow.
We are continually keeping abreast of ongoing veterinary medical concerns and continuing our education. Our entire staff works together to provide the highest quality medicine and customer service possible. We specialize in Caring!
